An out-of-town trip. A recently discovered hole-in-the-wall. A would-be pastime. A short silly talk. An interesting brew.

Happy 4th birthday, smarty! You’ve been a very busy tyke this week, no? Hope you liked your two three birthday shindigs very much. Take care of that point-and-shoot rectangular thing and explore colors, OK? And always try to tell your story visually as you grow older…

Last April 24, we went on a day tour to 8 Waves Waterpark and Hotel  in San Rafael, Bulacan— courtesy of Smart as one of its Fun Familia destinations this record-breaking hot summer. It was a whole day affair, which started as early as 6AM. All we had to bring was our individual carry-on bag with our swimsuits, sunblock, a handy digicam, and a few floaters for Gab.

Ta-dah!

After tripping over her cute baby pink sleeveless dress during the grad march, dashing here and there while the rest was listening to a speaker,  and performing a Hawaiian hula dance, Gabi received three surprise bling-blings for Best in Reading, Best in Math, and Most Loving (o ha?) from her kiddie school last March 30. The last one was not really “surprising”  because the kid is naturally affectionate.   Unfortunately, Nay couldn’t remember where she has stashed Gabi‘s three medals.

These random shots were taken last Saturday— Nay‘s one day advance birthday celebration at the Mall of Asia. We’ve been relying lately on our Olympus µ 1050 SW (or the Olympus Stylus 1050 SW released in the US) point-and-shoot digital camera, especially when Gabi is with us. Watching over a bulky camera bag with a DSLR kit is a little agonizing while you are also keeping an eye on a hyper kid like Gab, who could run in any direction at anytime. The difference in resolution is very apparent, though. But the images are good enough to capture a few delightful, fleeting instances.

Leftovers

I found this piece of writing from a technical blogger while searching for a Robohelp workaround. Interestingly, the article is not at all technical. It talks about reconstructing a relationship, particularly details accompanying it (which reminds me of the funny priest at my cousin’s wedding last month). Some of you might have gotten this story in a form of an email spam, or seen it from Facebook or other blogs. In that case, please ignore the rest of this entry. But for those of you who have not read or heard about it yet, I am encouraging you to take some time (around six minutes if you’re a fast reader) to absorb its essence.

Rock-Solid Backbone

Wrap up my 2009 Currently-Reading and To-Read countersthen compile new ones.
Spend time with my parents as much as I can— because holidays seem so short and everyone’s getting older.
Back to watching at least two films of any kind each week— since my viewing history has been pretty limited to Hollywood flick downloads, Ellen, Glee, TMZ, and other ETC/Jack TV series.
Revisit my sketchpad— and my charcoal set.
Wakeboard— a one-year overdue goal. Shame on me.
Be more productive like clockwork in my cube— not necessarily mean having to stay for grueling hours but more of plotting tasks sensibly and in good time.
Spend smart— it’s not just all about saving hard.
Stay healthy without being self-conscious— moderate what we eat, jog on a regular basis, take thorough medical checkup earnestly.
Execute some crazy plans— slightly ambitious, but who knows.

I’m crazy about holidays. It always speaks of family, and opens a possibility of seeing faces that I cannot afford to see all the time. This holiday season is another high point, except for the fact that I haven’t been spending it with my buddy, which, by the way, is a record breaker. A tough thirteen days, can’t imagine.
