An out-of-town trip. A recently discovered hole-in-the-wall. A would-be pastime. A short silly talk. An interesting brew.

About Us

What is Brewing Sessions?

Brewing sessions is our personal Web site. Although this site covers some of our notable coffee break experiences, it is not entirely dedicated to coffee discussions. We do not even regard ourselves as brewing experts. But we humbly claim that we are some coffee aficionados, always wanting to discover an almost perfect cup. We know the smell of roasted beans by heart, either when passing by the perfume section of a mall or when waiting for our turn to order a blend. We can recognize a good brew and match it with an oven-fresh oatmeal cookie or a slice of banana cake with so much ease. We can simply sit inside an espresso bar, find a nice read, and love the day.

Coffee or the moment of drinking it plays an immense role in our history as “buddies”— how we met, how we knew each other, how we openly acknowledged our past and somehow fought about it, how we usually settle things, how we kiss and make up, how we plan our next stopover, and how we give each other our alone time. And so, we want to remember every significant activity that we do, such as an out-of-town trip, a recently discovered hole-in-the-wall or even a short silly talk, as a good brewing session. Thinking about such occasions that way keeps us grounded.

Why did we put up this Web site?

Countless of blogs and Web sites have already been out there providing information about cool vacation spots, accommodations, foods, movies, and other interesting stuff. Brewing Sessions may not be different. Our site may also reflect the same output. But we do not intend to compete with or echo these existing sites. We just want to share our stories.

Essentially, our primary goal jumps from one level to another:
  1. To chronicle our activities as late-20′s (going 30 sometime in the near future) couple aiming to maintain a fun, moving, and healthy life by exploring things around the country (and, maybe someday, somewhere abroad).
  2. To pass on our experiences to our friends who have the same interests as ours.
  3. To have something to tell our future kids and grandkids.
  4. To have a vivid past to go back to when we grow old.
We are inviting everyone to drop by and stamp us from time to time. We will always try to give you a handy and credible account alongside our candid judgment on anything that we can talk about over a warm cup of latte or macchiato.
 Warming up,

gjay and nin

P.S. This site is still under development as we try to find out and pick up the right beans for you. Please be patient with us, particularly when in comes to the cluttered tags, “uncategorized” entries, Hot Spots page (which you can only access through the Lakbayan sidebar banner), and the Extra Shots page.

Although this site is cross-browser and cross-platform friendly, it is best viewed with the latest version of IE, Firefox, Google Chrome or Safari. We haven’t tested it yet in other browsers. We found out a  few minor compatibility issues with older versions, such as the appearance of some subtitles. But if you don’t mind bumping into those little buggers, please disregard our suggestion.
