Today is quite a milestone. One of the most important dates granted to mankind. Well, this is just me talking. And that’s just my meek opinion. I have nothing much to say, really. Nothing fancy’s going on or ever happened. No such thing as “blown out of proportion”. Everything’s subtle— like a caterpillar morphing into a butterfly, like a small amount of water turning into clear ice cubes, like a 34-story skyscraper window cleaner stroking a squeegee against oversize glass panels at regular intervals. Like those kinds of weird analogies. Things are lingering, safe, calculated, handy, and, apparently, sublime. As I said, I have nothing much (I mean, nothing THAT much) to say. Bottom line— I dig what I have right now. In all honesty. And I suppose, the Hide and Seek entry in my playlist could fill the gap. I hope you have a reliable player installed; it’s just 4 minutes, more or less. But if you find the song dreary or lethargic, feel free to stop anytime. ![]()

Happy 4th birthday, smarty! You’ve been a very busy tyke this week, no? Hope you liked your two three birthday shindigs very much. Take care of that point-and-shoot rectangular thing and explore colors, OK? And always try to tell your story visually as you grow older…
I’d love to share with you guys this very short clip, which was sent to my team by our documentation director for our two celebrators John and Scott last week. To my UP Sarô orgmates Ai, Cezanne, Rosch, and Sol, my mother’s sole sister Mama Tess, my buddy’s Mama Jean, Gabi‘s likewise energetic cousin Tifa, my bro Yano, my former bosses Ms. Joyce and Ms. Moi, my friend and former officemate Rach, my former G20 blockmates Gian and Mel, my cousin Te Loren, and my friend and HS batchmate Weng, an über cool birthday!

We had a fun and cozy night out last Saturday. It was a follow-through on our Friday night “gig”. We checked out Fish Out of Water at Greenbelt 5. Double celebration naman sya, so di nakaka-guilty mag-overindulge, hehe. We made reservation two days before.

We ordered grilled chicken couscous salad, grilled Sarangani Bay milkfish belly, steamed lapu-lapu in soy sauce, a huge crab over a pasta in white sauce with garlic (I forgot the name), kiwi shake, strawberry shake, buko juice, and their iced tea. They served us their smoked fish pate, thinly sliced baguette with a creamy dip, for appetizer.

We did it. Yeah.
It wasn’t a seamless process however. There was a delay of almost two hours due to heavy traffic. There was a change of location because it was already after regular office hours — from the small Hawkers Management office to the open air Manila City Hall garden. Luckily, they have been having OT tasks this month, which gave us a significant leeway to catch up on the last-minute hitches. Pulling the whole thing off had become much more taxing in some way. But when the first song started, I instantly knew that it would be a smash hit.
While many lovey-dovey couples put so much effort into making reservations at the most romantic spot on Earth every February 14, my buddy and I do our best to come up with an extraordinary family bonding idea in our attempt to make that day a little extra special for Nay. It’s her day, not ours.
