These random shots were taken last Saturday— Nay‘s one day advance birthday celebration at the Mall of Asia. We’ve been relying lately on our Olympus µ 1050 SW (or the Olympus Stylus 1050 SW released in the US) point-and-shoot digital camera, especially when Gabi is with us. Watching over a bulky camera bag with a DSLR kit is a little agonizing while you are also keeping an eye on a hyper kid like Gab, who could run in any direction at anytime. The difference in resolution is very apparent, though. But the images are good enough to capture a few delightful, fleeting instances.

We had a fun and cozy night out last Saturday. It was a follow-through on our Friday night “gig”. We checked out Fish Out of Water at Greenbelt 5. Double celebration naman sya, so di nakaka-guilty mag-overindulge, hehe. We made reservation two days before.
We ordered grilled chicken couscous salad, grilled Sarangani Bay milkfish belly, steamed lapu-lapu in soy sauce, a huge crab over a pasta in white sauce with garlic (I forgot the name), kiwi shake, strawberry shake, buko juice, and their iced tea. They served us their smoked fish pate, thinly sliced baguette with a creamy dip, for appetizer.

We did it. Yeah. 
It wasn’t a seamless process however. There was a delay of almost two hours due to heavy traffic. There was a change of location because it was already after regular office hours — from the small Hawkers Management office to the open air Manila City Hall garden. Luckily, they have been having OT tasks this month, which gave us a significant leeway to catch up on the last-minute hitches. Pulling the whole thing off had become much more taxing in some way. But when the first song started, I instantly knew that it would be a smash hit.
While many lovey-dovey couples put so much effort into making reservations at the most romantic spot on Earth every February 14, my buddy and I do our best to come up with an extraordinary family bonding idea in our attempt to make that day a little extra special for Nay. It’s her day, not ours.
